
ORLANDO — Epithelium-on cross-linking with oxygen supplementation showed efficacy, safety and speed as a treatment for keratoconus, according to a poster presentation.
At the American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting, Kenneth A. Beckman, MD, FACS, of Comprehensive EyeCare of Central Ohio, presented the results of a 12-month phase 3 study that randomly assigned approximately 300 patients with keratoconus 2:1 to treatment with either an epi-on cross-linking system that delivers supplemental oxygen to the eye during treatment or placebo.
