Heidelberg introduces improvements to Spectralis OCT2 module

Improvements have been made to the next-generation Spectralis OCT2 module diagnostic imaging platform, Heidelberg Engineering announced in a press release.The scan rate of the OCT2 module was increased from 70,000 Hz to 85,000 Hz, and the module was combined with the company’s TruTrack active eye tracking to improve image quality and acquisition speed, the release said.

Xen 45 gel stent with MMC may be combined with cataract surgery

SAN DIEGO — The Xen 45 gel stent implant with mitomycin C may be used safely in conjunction with cataract surgery, according to a presentation here.At the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery annual meeting, Arsham Sheybani, MD, and colleagues presented 1-year results of the prospective, nonrandomized, multicenter clinical trial of open angle glaucoma patients with IOP ranging from 18 mm Hg to 35 mm Hg who underwent cataract surgery and implantation of the Xen 45 gel stent (AqueSys).
