Preliminary European study results show good performance for microincision IOL

Ljubljana, SLOVENIA — Microincision cataract surgery with implantation of the Incise IOL from Bausch + Lomb showed good visual and anatomic outcomes in a preliminary 4- to 6-month report from a multicenter European study. The Incise is a one-piece hydrophilic acrylic IOL that can be implanted with a dedicated 1.5-mm diameter injector through incisions of less than 2 mm.“We implanted this lens in 25 eyes of 25 patients. TearLab to acquire AOA’s OcuHub technology platform

TearLab Corp. announced it signed a non-binding term sheet to purchase the assets of the OcuHub business unit from AOA Excel Inc., the for-profit subsidiary of the American Optometric Association.The press release explained the acquisition is expected to close in March; terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
