Refractive editor Dr. David Goldman continues a conversation with Dr. Uday Devgan regarding CMS reimbursement in cataract procedures. The normal fee for cataract has decreased to the point where we will have a two-tiered system. Costs of lenses, and continued fee-cuts result in a widening gap. Spectacle independence among baby boomers is a chief concern. As such, premium IOLs will always be popular. IOL exchange pearls are discussed.
