Contaminated batches of intravitreal bevacizumab from single pharmacy in US linked to serious eye infections

The FDA is investigating cases of serious eye infections in patients in Miami who have been treated with repackaged intravitreal bevacizumab for wet age-related macular degeneration. The Agency is alerting healthcare professionals to reports of a cluster of serious eye infections, which investigators have traced to tainted injections from a single pharmacy, which was distributed to multiple eye clinics.
