The Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety has approved Iluvien® (fluocinolone acetonide intravitreal implant) for the treatment of vision impairment associated with chronic diabetic macular oedema considered insufficiently responsive to available therapies.
This is the first national approval in the EU, following the completion of the Decentralized Regulatory Procedure, in which the MHRA (serving as the Reference Member State), along with six other member states, delivered a positive outcome for Iluvien®.
