Systematic review and indirect comparison of ranibizumab and bevacizumab in diabetic macular oedema

There are no published trials directly comparing ranibizumab and bevacizumab for the treatment of diabetic macular oedema. To address this gap in knowledge, this systematic review indirectly compared the effectiveness of ranibizumab and bevacizumab using data from randomised controlled studies.   The researchers searched Medline, Embase, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials for trials using a common comparator (multiple laser treatment) measuring best corrected visual acuity.
