Optical and visual analysis system provides method to screen PCO
MILAN — The Discovery optical analyzer from Innovative Visual Systems provides a rapid method to screen posterior capsule opacification, according to one surgeon.Two technologies combined in the same system provide a retroillumination imaging and a wavefront spot imaging of the posterior capsule, where the position, quantity and local density of PCO can be visualized and measured. Both exams use near infrared light and can be performed in a dark room, with an undilated pupil simulating night light conditions.
