Foveal thinning, deepening may be indicators of macular hole development

Macular holes may be attributed to discrete anatomic changes such as thinning of the central fovea, according to a study.The retrospective, cross-sectional study included 849 eyes: 301 eyes with macular hole, 199 with epiretinal membrane (ERM), 152 with retinal vein occlusion (RVO) and 197 healthy eyes.
