Large-area application of MMC during trabeculectomy more successful

A large surface area application of mitomycin C during trabeculectomy attained a higher IOP reduction and a reduced rate of bleb scarring compared with eyes treated with a small area of application, according to a study.One hundred ninety-one eyes were included in the retrospective study; 96 eyes underwent trabeculectomy with small-area MMC application and 95 eyes underwent trabeculectomy with large-area MMC application.
