Femtosecond laser-assisted clear corneal incisions may cause less damage

Femtosecond laser-assisted clear corneal incisions resulted in less tissue damage and better wound morphology than manual incisions, according to a study.The prospective study analyzed 60 eyes of 60 patients who underwent cataract surgery with clear corneal incisions. Femtosecond laser-assisted incisions were created in 30 eyes, and manual incisions were created in 30 eyes. The LenSx system (Alcon) was used in all laser-assisted procedures.
