Large study finds minimal rate of complications in daily disposables

ORLANDO, Fla.  – In a study of patients who used hydrogel or silicone hydrogel daily disposable lenses for a total of 960 years of wear, only 1% (11 patients) experienced contact lens-related complications that prompted clinical visits, and only two events were corneal infiltrative events.In a poster here at the Association for Vision and Research in Ophthalmology meeting, Robin L. Chalmers, OD, FAAO, FBCLA, and colleagues reported results from a questionnaire administered to 2,894 subjects in the TEMPO Registry over the course of 1 year.
