Researchers recommend increasing time spent outdoors during school

ORLANDO, Fla. – Results of a study involving 2,000 first-grade students prompted the researchers to suggest mandatory targets for the amount of time children spend outside during school hours.Ian G. Morgan, PhD, of the Research School of Biology, Australian National University, Canberra, and the Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China, reported results of the Guangzhou Outdoor Activity Longitudinal Study here at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology meeting.
