CMS extends Open Payments deadline to Sept. 11
Due to prior outages, CMS announced it is extending the review, dispute and correction process deadline for its Open Payments System by one more day, to Sept. 11 at midnight.CMS closed the Open Payments system on Aug. 2 after errors and intermingled data were discovered, including errors involving physicians with the same name or incorrect NPIs. The site was reopened on Aug. 15, and the deadline for submitting a dispute was postponed. Two scheduled maintenance outages resulted in an additional extension.
