Mercy Ships promotes World Sight Day
Mercy Ships volunteer medical professionals have provided more than 33,000 free eye operations and more than 222,600 eye consultations since 1978, according to a press release.The organization’s more than 25-year partnership with Alcon has led to the Alcon Eye Fellowship in Africa, where surgeons are trained and return to their communities with improved skill sets in an effort to restore vision to more patients, according to the press release.
