OVDs influenced IOL power from intraoperative aberrometry insignificantly

CHICAGO — Aphakic power calculation based on intraoperative aberrometry was lower when viscosurgical devices were used instead of balanced saline solution, but not significantly so, according to study results presented here.At the American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting, Samuel Masket, MD, compared intraoperative aberrometry measurement (ORA, WaveTec Vision) with balanced saline solution to measurements taken with ophthalmic viscosurgical devices (OVDs).
