FDA clears Eidon confocal scanner

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has cleared the Eidon true-color confocal scanner, according to a press release from CenterVue.The scanner is a fully automated retinal imaging system to diagnose and manage retinal disease. It uses confocal imaging and white light illumination to allow for better contrast and image quality compared with traditional fundus cameras, according to the release.
