Same-day bilateral cataract surgery gains ground, but obstacles remain

Performing immediately sequential bilateral cataract surgery, or ISBCS, as opposed to scheduling two separate surgery days, continues to gain popularity, due mostly to patient convenience and cost savings. However, the safety of same-day surgery is still a lingering concern to some, as are suboptimal visual outcomes.
