Ultra-widefield imaging may assess vitreous haze in uveitis patients

DENVER — Ultra-widefield imaging using a scanning laser technique may assess vitreous haze and manage patients with intermediate uveitis, posterior uveitis or panuveitis, according to a presentation here.In a poster presented at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology annual meeting, Drew Dickson, MD, and colleagues evaluated the Optos ultra-widefield 200° retinal camera vs. conventional Carl Zeiss Meditec fundus imaging photographs in 32 eyes with uveitis to detect vitreous haze using sensitivity, specificity, and positive and negative predictive values.
