Surgeons should consider prompt surgical removal of retained lens fragments from the anterior chamber after otherwise uncomplicated cataract surgery, according to a study.Although retained lens fragments are rare, occurring in less than 1% of routine cataract surgeries, nearly every cataract surgeon has experienced such a case, the study said.
