Small-incision scleral suture technique produces stable visual results, few complications

Four-point scleral fixation of a foldable hydrophilic acrylic IOL through a small incision is a relatively easy technique for secondary IOL implantation in eyes that lack capsular support, according to the authors of a case series.The technique improved or maintained corrected distance visual acuity in 97% of eyes with minimal complications and has the potential advantages of enhanced IOL stability and reduced surgically induced astigmatism.
