Storing contact lenses in tap water increases Acanthamoeba keratitis risk
Using tap water to store lenses significantly increased the risk of Acanthamoeba keratitis in rigid gas permeable contact lens wearers, according to a study.The case-control study included 37 RGP contact lens wearers diagnosed with Acanthamoeba keratitis and 17 healthy RGP lens-wearing controls.
