AMA, LexisNexis collaborate to enhance network directories

The AMA and LexisNexis Risk Solutions recently announced that they are partnering to create LexisNexis VerifyHCP, which will offer a holistic solution to maintaining up-to-date and accurate network directories of available health care professionals, while reducing physician burden, according to a press release.The accuracy of network directories often become impaired due to natural changes in physician data; however, accuracy is vital because patients rely on these directories to make knowledgeable decisions and find appropriate medical care, according to the release. The intensified regulations for physician offices to provide updated lists of health care professionals mandated by federal and state agencies have caused increased administrative burden for physicians.
