Avoid toy-related eye injuries this holiday season

Thousands of children are treated for toy-related eye injuries in U.S. emergency rooms each year, according to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, which is offering tips on preventing such injuries this holiday season.
Avoiding toys that include projectiles, sharp objects and spinning rotors is the easiest way to prevent toy-related injuries. These include slingshots, dart guns, pellet guns, arrows, slingshots and water balloon launchers. Anything that has a high-powered laser pointer should be avoided.
