Scleral-glued IOLs a good option for eyes with pseudoexfoliation

Visual acuity was maintained or improved in the majority of patients with pseudoexfoliation who underwent glue-assisted scleral fixation of IOLs, according to a study.
The retrospective chart review of 28 eyes of 26 patients with pseudoexfoliation who had scleral-glued IOL insertion to replace previous IOLs found 89% of patients maintained stable visual acuity or achieved improved corrected distance visual acuity compared with their preoperative vision.
The main indication for scleral-glued IOL insertion was late spontaneous endocapsular IOL subluxation in 21 patients. Other indications were
