Incoming ASCRS president looks to continue focus on education and advocacy

SAN DIEGO — Following a year of transition, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery is looking forward to continuing its work in education, advocacy and philanthropy.
Incoming ASCRS President Nick Mamalis, MD, began his term at the organization’s annual meeting, taking over from Thomas W. Samuelson, MD. Mamalis previously served as vice president for ASCRS.
In the meeting’s opening ceremonies, Mamalis said that he wanted to keep a focus on these important aspects of the Society through his presidential term.
