Musculoskeletal disorders are a frequent occupational problem among physicians, and ophthalmologists are one of the subgroups with the highest prevalence. Lower back pain, neck pain, pain or numbness in the hands, wrists and legs, and carpal tunnel syndrome come as a consequence of improper work ergonomics.
