Second Sight given $2.4 million NIH grant

The National Institutes of Health have awarded a $2.4 million 4-year grant to Second Sight Medical Products for the development of spatial localization and mapping technology, according to a press release.
Second Sight, in a joint collaboration with the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, is working toward speeding the integration of spatial localization and mapping (SLAM) technology into its Orion visual cortical prosthesis system.
