SAN FRANCISCO — Patients receiving Dextenza safely achieved absence of pain and inflammation after both first and second cataract surgeries, according to a presentation at the American Academy of Ophthalmology annual meeting.
“We don’t completely understand pain across the board, but we think that sympathetic irritation from the first surgery may cause a proneness of the second eye to have more pain and the memory traces of that pain that they experience – however small – can have a lingering effect for many weeks after the surgery,” John A.
