AMA President Susan R. Bailey, MD, believes in science.
In a statement from the AMA on CDC changes to COVID-19 testing guidance, Bailey said in a press release, “When the CDC updates a guidance, the agency should provide a rationale for the change. We urge CDC and the Department of Health and Human Services to release the scientific justification for this change in testing guidelines.”
At the virtual Women in Ophthalmology Summer Symposium, where Bailey delivered a keynote talk, she laid the foundation for the AMA’s position.
