Vectored thermal pulsation improves visible meibomian gland structure

Eyes with meibomian gland dysfunction treated with vectored thermal pulsation experienced improved visible meibomian gland structure compared with eyes in a nontreatment control group.
The retrospective, single-masked cohort study included 48 eyes of 30 patients in a treatment group and 22 eyes of 13 patients in a control group. All eyes in the study had dry eye disease and meibomian gland dysfunction. Eyes underwent treatment with the LipiFlow thermal pulsation system (Johnson & Johnson Vision).
