Woman presents with worsening diplopia

A 63-year-old woman with diabetes, high blood pressure, depression and ovarian cysts presented to New England Eye Center for worsening diplopia for a few months.
The diplopia was more noticeable at near than at distance, with newly observed vertical diplopia when she looked up. She was previously established with the strabismus service for a comitant convergence insufficiency-type exotropia, which had been stable.
