Standardized approach may reduce intravitreal injection errors

A standardized teams-based approach may improve safety and limit errors during intravitreal injections, according to a report published in JAMA Ophthalmology.
“Intravitreal injections have become the most commonly performed procedure in ophthalmology and perhaps all of medicine,” study author Robin A. Vora, MD, told Healio|OSN. “We wanted to look closely at those rare occurrences where a mistake occurred during the procedure.”
