Survey sheds light on heavy impact of geographic atrophy on independence, quality of life

Living with geographic atrophy causes a substantial emotional burden and has a worse than expected impact on independence and quality of life, according to a global survey conducted by The Harris Poll on behalf of Apellis Pharmaceuticals.
The Geographic Atrophy Insights Survey (GAINS) reached 203 adults with geographic atrophy (GA) across nine countries with the aim of gaining a deeper understanding of the personal and social impact of a disease that so far does not have any approved treatment.
