
SAN FRANCISCO — In this Healio Video Perspective from the AAO meeting, John A. Hovanesian, MD, FACS, discusses the benefits of using Iheezo as an anesthetic for cataract and other anterior segment surgeries.
Iheezo (chloroprocaine hydrochloride ophthalmic gel 3%, Harrow) is a low viscosity topical gel that achieves a high level of anesthesia for the ocular surface in about 90 seconds, according to Hovanesian. Additionally, Iheezo reduces the need for intracameral injections of lidocaine as well as narcotic sedation, he said.
