SEVILLE, Spain — In this Healio Video Perspective from the COPHy meeting, José García-Arumí, MD, PhD, summarizes a debate session he co-chaired on scleral buckling vs. vitrectomy in retinal detachment surgery.
“This has been a very important controversy over many years. Around 30 years ago, scleral buckling was the most popular,” he said. “Nowadays, because not all young people know how to do this surgery well, the incidence of scleral buckling has gone down.”
Based on his experience and the insights provided by specialists during the debate, García-Arumí
