
A 65-year-old recently retired man presents to the office for his “Welcome to Medicare” exam.
The patient retired from his job as an accountant about 3 months ago. His only past medical history, consists of hyperlipidemia and impaired fasting glucose. He does not have a history of any surgeries. He is up to date on recommended vaccinations and colon cancer screening. He has never smoked and drinks two to three glasses of wine on average per day. His only medications are atorvastatin 20 mg daily and a daily multivitamin.
