OCT offers standardized way to assess fibrosis in wet AMD

PARIS — An international group of retina specialists recently reached consensus on a two-step process for the identification of fibrosis in neovascular age-related macular degeneration.
“In the past, before we had a good treatment with anti-VEGFs, fibrosis was very obvious. On color photos, diagnosing a pale, elevated lesion in the macula was relatively easy.
