‘Burgeoning’ commercial spaceflight industry has implications for physicians

NASHVILLE —  The commercial spaceflight industry is booming, making aerospace medicine increasingly relevant for physicians, a speaker at OMED said.
According to the U.S. International Trade Commission, the average number of global space launches increased from 82 launches a year between 2008 to 2017 to 133 launches a year between 2018 to 2022.
