Retinal microchip restores central vision in geographic atrophy

PARIS — The Prima photovoltaic retinal stimulation microchip shows promise for restoring central vision in patients with foveal geographic atrophy, according to a speaker.
The 12-month results of the PRIMAvera multicenter study were presented at the Euretina congress by Frank G. Holz, MD, PhD, during his wide-ranging European Academy of Ophthalmology keynote lecture on the efforts that science and industry are making in the search for solutions in GA.
