Gene therapies under study for treatment of AMD

ORLANDO — In this video from the American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting, Jennifer I. Lim, MD, MBA, discusses three gene therapies currently being studied for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration.
Lim highlighted ABBV-RGX-314 (AbbVie, Regenxbio), Ixo-vec (Adverum Biotechnologies) and a dual transgene molecule from 4DMT.
“I think the future is bright, and we just have to wait to see what the outcomes of these studies will be,” Lim, of the University of Illinois Chicago, said.
