
Sports-related injuries are extremely common in every eye doctor’s practice.
These injuries are more common in younger patients between the ages of 10 and 19 years, in male patients, during competition vs. practice and especially when protective eye wear is not used. For example, 97% of injuries in basketball, baseball/softball and fishing occur in individuals not wearing protective eye wear.
