
A middle-aged man with type 2 diabetes and no ocular history presented urgently to the New England Eye Center retina department with progressive blurred vision in his right eye.
The patient endorsed intermittent blurred vision in the past only when his blood sugar was elevated, but this would spontaneously resolve. Given the recent persistence of blurred vision in his right eye, he presented to the retina clinic for further evaluation.
