Sight Sciences has launched Sion, a bladeless device used to perform goniotomy.
Sion is a manually operated instrument designed to excise the trabecular meshwork by grasping and removing diseased tissue without cutting, according to a press release.
The bladeless design, manufactured using specialized lasers, allows a more efficient tissue excision method by eliminating the risks associated with sharp instrumentation in the anterior chamber and iridocorneal angle anatomy.
