
A 51-year-old woman with a history of contact lens wear presented with 1 week of left eye pain, redness, photophobia and decreased vision.
She reported adherence to good lens hygiene, with her last use occurring a week before symptom onset. Initial evaluation at an outside urgent care clinic revealed 20/20 vision in both eyes, normal IOPs and a confluent inferior epithelial defect in the left eye. She was started on topical ofloxacin for presumed bacterial keratitis.
