For decades, I have been interested in the application of small-diameter aperture optics, or SDAO, to enhance visual function.
My first insight into the power of SDAO was the observation in the late 1970s that my pseudophakic glaucoma patients on strong miotic eye drops for IOP control had an amazing range of vision. Despite significant residual spherical refractive error and astigmatism, nearly all these patients in a bright light environment with a normal macula could see 20/25 or better at distance, intermediate and near. Many of them were totally spectacle (Read more...)
