
Discrimination in health care, whether based on race, ethnicity or language, can lead to decreased health care utilization, delayed access and poor health outcomes.
According to a 2024 survey, 33% of 3,000 American health care workers stated racism or discrimination against patients is a major problem in health care, and 19% said it is a crisis.
