Pregnant woman presents with sudden onset central vision loss

A 31-year-old white woman presented to the retina clinic with a unilateral central scotoma in the left eye after an episode of violent, large-volume emesis the night prior.
She denied eye pain, flashes or floaters. There was no recent history of trauma. She had no ocular history. She was 36 weeks pregnant and had no other medical history.
