Major topics of discussion at this year’s American Society of Retina Specialists annual meeting included real-world data on the treatment of geographic atrophy in dry age-related macular degeneration.
“This was huge this year because now we actually have medications that can slow down the progression of geographic atrophy and macular degeneration,” Vivienne S. Hau, MD, PhD, of Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine, told Healio in an interview. “We even have better imaging and understanding with new biomarkers.”
