VIDEO: Limitations remain in OCT angiography

VIENNA, Austria — At the Advanced Retinal Therapy meeting here, David Huang, MD, PhD, discusses the potentials of OCT angiography. Fluorescein and ICG angiography have limited ability to identify the location and extent of vascular lesions. OCT angiography could become the new gold standard, due to its less invasive nature and better delineation and quantification of vascular abnormalities. However, scan area is still limited and processing software is still in early stages of development.
